I'd like to add a microphone to your list. The Shure SM58.
This microphone, an xlr cable, and an xlr to 1/8" stereo adapter make a great combination and all should be available for under or around $125.00 ($90 for the mic, $20 for xlr cable, and $5 for the adapter).

I second that motion. I've said before that it is not even fair to compare the 2, Unless, throw in Flash's Big Brother After Effects. Even Toonboom Studio beats flash in all those points that you made Tony.

This all looks like good news. There are a variety of tutorials available for Animate but none of them are complete for covering all aspects of the software. The more the merrier and Loony-Toonier.

I agree with your comments. After finding Animate, I have no use for Flash at all. Animate even make Flash files in case you want to publish to a web site. But for real animation, Toon Boom is definitely the better choice over Flash.

Hey Alex, Thanks for the awesome questions! OK here are my answers:
1. I parented the rain to the camera not because it was the closest, but because I always needed the rain to be in front of all other elements. If I didn't do this, the rain layer would disappear as soon as the camera moved passed it. I hope this helps.

2. Yes, this is how to create a cycle, I will do a shorter tutorial just on building cycles soon.

3. Yes, I believe this technique would work for a blizzard
